MY WHY
I've been involved in analytics throughout my career long before the term data scientist existed.
Several years ago, when data scientist became the hot new job, it got me thinking, and…
I wasted a lot of time pondering, researching, and doubting.
I eventually made the decision and enrolled in a data analytics master’s program. Shortly after starting the program, I landed my first official data science role as Head of People Analytics: a promotion. A few years after that I started my data analytics consulting business (Ariel Analytics) and then my Data Wilderness blog. It's still going strong 5 years later.
There’s a lot that I wish I had known when I was thinking about making the leap from assistant director in transportation operations to data scientist. I learned a lot from that experience and from advising others making a similar switch.
I created this course to teach you what I learned, so you can stop googling and pondering as time slips away, and finally make it happen.
